The Kindergartner
Friday was the first day!
She picked a flower for me to put in my office, and then we walked to school.
She didn’t even look back!
I was really glad to see her at the end of the day. I think the feeling was mutual.
That was fast
Off to kindergarten today!
How did this happen? As if I needed any more evidence that the girl is growing up, she also has her first loose tooth…

My, oh my!!!
A conversation
Mommy: “what are you doing?”
Girl: “trying to touch my eye with my tongue”
Mommy:“oh!”
Girl: “mommy, didn’t you know that lizards use their tongues to clean their eyes?”
Mommy didn’t have anything left to say!
Book One!
The girl has been practicing for weeks to get ready for today!
There are seventeen pieces in Suzuki book one, and she had to play them all for her book recital. Her Nonnie accompanied her on the piano, and Poppie and our good friends joined us (her mom and dad) to listen.
We were all very proud of her! The girl has learned so many things…but her teacher summed it up today by saying “now you know how to play the cello!”

Paradox
India is a land of contradictions.
Hunger amid plenty.
Colors among dust
Order and disorder , wealth and need.
Lack of space, and wide open spaces.

A Good Week
This was my home last week (the orange one).
Sleeping in a tent next to a bubbling creek is actually very nice. It’s also nice to see this when you wake up!
Lectures aren’t quite as boring in classrooms like this:
We constantly find new creatures and flowers to learn about!
It was an amazing week! It’s good to be home, though.
