That was fast!

Three year old preschool is done! I blinked and it was done. I can’t believe how much she has changed:

The girl and her teachers:

What was your favorite thing to do at preschool?
“Play cars with my friends”
What was your favorite thing to learn about?
“Reading and counting”
What was your favorite field trip?
“Willowbrook- petting the opossums!”
What was your favorite craft?
“Making my placemat”
What was your favorite job?
“I liked being the ringer (bell ringer)”
What was your favorite thing to do on the playground?
Swing and do the climbing thing.”

The girl learned a lot!
The teacher says that she is kind, plays well with her friends, and is bright. She is also a chatterbox (when she should be quiet) and a wiggle worm (when she should be still). It’s always good to have things to work on!

Congratulations sweet and wonderful girl!!! We love you!

One year

One year makes all the difference! A year ago today the girl had her surgery at Lurie Children’s. We were starting two weeks of being flat! One year later, you would hardly know that there ever was a problem! In fact, we can’t keep her still if we want to!

I was asked, “can she sit still on the stage for 30min?” The girl answered by sitting still (relatively) for an hour! What a big girl! Mommy is very proud of you…oh, and you played really well too!

Each spring we make a trip to the arboretum for a run through the flowers. It’s really an accidental tradition, but one I’m thankful for. Our first visit was when the girl was a few months old:

When she was just over a year, she tried to walk for the first time in these flowers:

At two she was running and singing to her own tune!

Last year, the girl at three was getting ready for her release surgery.

Now she’s four, and she’s found her wings.

The girl has met her physical therapy goals!! She’s super fast and confident and ready for anything!!! We first met the girl’s PT in the fall of 2011 after the neurosurgeon said “she just walks funny, go get some PT”. The girl certainly had a distinctive way of walking!

Our friends called it the “zombie walk”. The girl worked hard in PT, but hit a plateau. Without Ms N, we never would have gotten the doctors to listen! We might have never met Dr. A (the new neurosurgeon)! We are very thankful that the girl was in such good hands. Look how far she’s come!
