Travels West
The girl, her Nonnie, the dog and I drove west on Friday. We had our Fourth of July picnic at Great River Bluffs State Park in Winona, Minnesota. It was a beautiful place to stretch our legs!
Yesterday we made great time driving across South Dakota. It was a beautiful day so we decided to make a detour to Badlands National Park.
We are happy to be here and are looking forward to many adventures.
Vacation!!!
Happy Easter!
The Snowy Day
We had planned a low-key day, but the snow ensured a day off!
Mommy got her papers graded while the girl and the dog made plans!
The imagination was working overtime today!
We got out for a bit to explore the yard.
She talked with the snowman to find out what he does at night.
Then she made a few snow angels, just like Peter did on his Snowy Day
The girl also tasted an icicle. Her mom hopes that it wasn’t too toxic!
It was a wonderful day of cuddles!
I think we’re ready for the week now!
Fox Party
We had a fantastic party at the arboretum for the girl who loves foxes !!!
The kids started with some wildlife tracking!
The fresh snow was perfect for some fun and a snowball fight!
Inside, the little foxes made a snow globe, traded books and ate cupcakes!
We also had a photo booth:
Happy Birthday Amazing Girl!!
5!
Winter Fun
I thought my heart would burst when the girl said: “Mommy, this is the best day ever!” We did have a good day! It’s supposed to be crazy cold again tomorrow, so I thought it would be a good day to play outside. We started with a little hike with friends.
The girl decided that she needed to add more snow to the lake to tinsulate the frogs. The boy reminded her that snow is ice and ice is cold. They both have a point.
The hike was awesome, just not long enough.
This afternoon, mommy decided that we had to take advantage of the now “packable” snow. We had fun in the front yard sledding, throwing snowballs, and building a snowman. Mommy needs some snowman lessons, but the little guy is kind of cute!
The Christmas Gift
Mommy! I got science for Christmas!!!
The field microscope is a big hit (I can’t lie, I’m thrilled!) Aunt A finds the coolest gifts!
We explored everything with the microscope:
I saw a green bug. I think it’s a grasshopper
I’m not sure she could actually see anything like this:
Can you believe we found a pansy in December?
With this experiment, we have confirmed that the girl’s dad is superman!
I guess x-Ray vision is hereditary!
Reading!
Someone has discovered reading! She’s so happy !!!
