Mommy: “what are you doing?”
Girl: “trying to touch my eye with my tongue”

Mommy:“oh!”
Girl: “mommy, didn’t you know that lizards use their tongues to clean their eyes?”
Mommy didn’t have anything left to say!
The girl has been practicing for weeks to get ready for today!

There are seventeen pieces in Suzuki book one, and she had to play them all for her book recital. Her Nonnie accompanied her on the piano, and Poppie and our good friends joined us (her mom and dad) to listen.

We were all very proud of her! The girl has learned so many things…but her teacher summed it up today by saying “now you know how to play the cello!”
Here are a few highlights:
Minuet in C Bach
The Happy Farmer Schumann
The girl did it! She made it to 1000 books!!!
Here are the last 200 books:

She read the 1000th book to me! Kindergarten here she comes!!!
I love everything about this program! I love the cuddles I get when I read to the girl. I enjoy many of the books! However, the best part of all of this reading is that the girl is now a reader!
She is starting to grab books without prompting! “Scat, cat!” Is a favorite. I must admit I find the plot a bit thin, but I love that she’s reading to me!
Here are the books we read (601-800):
Today was dress up as what you want to be when you grow up day at preschool. The girl asked to dress up as a scientist and specifically requested a lab coat and glasses.
On the way to school she announced that she is going to be a “zoocologist”
This mommy is one proud scientist! (Even though I realize she will most likely change her mind). This kid will do amazing things, I’m sure!
I love reading to the girl, so I hope we will do this long after our 1000th book!
The 500th book was Stars by Mary Lynn Ray and illustrated by Marla Frazee. We love anything that Marla Frazee does! We have had this book for a long time, and the girl really loves stars…she often thinks about the line:
you can draw a star on shiny paper and cut around it. Then you can put it in your pocket.
It was the perfect book for #500!
We are half way! The girl earned her gold sticker, and the librarian added her name to the wall!

After the library, we went and picked out 5 new books! (One for each hundred on her list!). We found one that reminded us of our buddy, Amos. It’s already a favorite !
